Peguis First Nation celebrated a historic moment Tuesday January 31, 2023 as it became the first Indigenous community in Manitoba to take control of child welfare under federal legislation that came into effect three years ago.



The First Nation was joined by federal Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu, Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson and Manitoba Families Minister Rochelle Squires in the signing of a co-ordination agreement between the three governments.

Annual Youth Fishing Derby The Annual Youth Fishing Derby was held on Saturday, March 7, 2025 at Lake St.Andrews. There was a total of 223 Peguis Youth that participated in the fishing derby. 106 Adults in attendance also participated in a separate contest with 100% payout. Thank you to everyone for participating and enjoying the great weather we had!
