2025 Christmas Hampers Operation

This year’s Christmas Hampers operation was a huge success. Peguis Child and Family Services (the “Agency”) provides a Christmas Hamper to each household where a Peguis Member resides. Each year, 3,500 hampers are delivered to Members

.

More than 150 Peguis Members were hired to help with the Christmas Hampers massive operation. Jobs included Christmas Elves, packers, helpers and drivers.


The Christmas Hampers event each year is a huge operation. Starting in October, the Agency begins receiving large orders of items to be packed into hampers for Members. Each household received two large boxes of food, a large turkey and ham. The contents of the hampers included: Candy canes, boneless honey ham smoked, whole turkey seasoned, bag of potatoes, cake mix chocolate fudge, cake mix white, cereal oat quick packages, ground coffee, oatmeal cookies, corn cream style, creamer coffee mate original, filling pie apple, filling pie cherry, flour all purpose, frosting white, gravy base mix, apple juice, lard, margarine, mayonnaise, pancake mix, green peas, pickle cut bunslappers, microwaveable popcorn, baking powder, instant pudding chocolate, instant pudding vanilla, rice white long grain, salt, cranberry sauce, ground black pepper, chicken stuffing mix, sugar granulated, sugar icing, pancake original syrup, tea. Also included with all hampers were printed copies of the 2024/25 Annual Report, 2024/25 Financial Statements, 2024/25 Financial Summary, White Buffalo Report, Children Special Allowance Settlement notice, Member survey, newsletter poster and a Christmas greeting card.


Christmas Hampers were delivered to households in Peguis First Nation, Selkirk, Winnipeg and surrounding areas including Portage La Prairie and Brandon.



The Agency staff also contributed by donating $11,000.00 to the Christmas Hampers this year.
