Family Violence
The Family Violence Project was created to provide a support system for victims of violence and to increase awareness of violence and the impact on victims. Services include:
- Intake and referral
- Counselling
- Referral to therapist/shelter/crisis units/counselling
- Protection plans
- Medical support
- Court preparations
- Advocacy
Goals of the Family Violence Project:
- To provide a support system for victims of violence
- To increase awareness of violence and the impact on victims
- To provide a forum of support for offenders
- To integrate anger management/conflict resolution solutions into the community
- To integrate interventions necessary to combat family violence
- Network with community resources for a holistic approach to deal with Family Violence
- To influence community responsibility as it relates to dealing with violenceTo provide the community with information as it relates to services available
- To provide shelters or safe homes for victims and children in family violence situations
