Family Violence

The Family Violence Project was created to provide a support system for victims of violence and to increase awareness of violence and the impact on victims. Services include:

  • Intake and referral
  • Counselling
  • Referral to therapist/shelter/crisis units/counselling
  • Protection plans
  • Medical support
  • Court preparations
  • Advocacy

Goals of the Family Violence Project:

  • To provide a support system for victims of violence
  • To increase awareness of violence and the impact on victims
  • To provide a forum of support for offenders
  • To integrate anger management/conflict resolution solutions into the community
  • To integrate interventions necessary to combat family violence
  • Network with community resources for a holistic approach to deal with Family Violence
  • To influence community responsibility as it relates to dealing with violenceTo provide the community with information as it relates to services available
  • To provide shelters or safe homes for victims and children in family violence situations
